Join cross sector global practitioners as they share their stories of launching or pivoting their careers during a time of political, economic, and social instability in the United States. Learn ways they managed to cope and persevere to find ways to thrive in this time of uncertainty.
12:00 PM – Careers in Political Risk
As politics become more volatile and impactful on businesses and civil society globally, learn how firms assess risk and opportunities for private sector development and non-profit engagement across the world. Join us for a conversation with SFS alumni doing interesting work across industries and regions.
7:00 PM – Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Join global affairs practitioners to learn more about their careers and their diversity and inclusion journey in the multi-lateral, government, non-profit and private sector. Alumni will share perspectives as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC) professionals and allies on dimensions such as racial, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, and religious lines to encourage students from diverse communities to pursue and successfully navigate cross-sector careers in global affairs.

Jobs in this sector are diverse, and encompass the many issues faced by economically disadvantaged regions of the world – including Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene. Implementing long term solutions and creating capacity for sustainability remains the focus in the world of international development. Join a panel of alumni as they discuss projects that they have engaged in around the world related to these initiatives and the skills needed to thrive in this field.

2020 has been a challenging and inspiring year for important social justice issues. The business community has grappled with a pandemic and social justice crises. Are you interested in working on issues of social justice in the non-profit, public, or private sector? Are you interested in the intersection of business and social responsibility? Please join us for a conversation on how to break into careers in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Social Impact.
